Egon Schiele (June 12, 1890 - October 31, 1918) was an Austrian painter. A protege of Gustav Klimt, Schiele was a major figurative painter of the early 20th century. His work is noted for its intensity, and the many self-portraits the artist produced. The twisted body shapes and the expressive line that characterize Schiele's paintings and drawings mark the artist as an early exponent of Expressionism.
I love learning new things everyday, TIL about Egon Schiele. So naturally I was looking via Google for the artist & style that somewhat resembled this shit I made:
Researching old masters like Da Vinci, Manet, Picasso, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, (Manet was close though) but nothing clicked...until I found Mr Schiele. One Google image search led to 10, and then 20. I was captivated.
My drawing style is somewhat unique (from what others on Reddit and FB have said, I thank them by the way.) I always like the sketchy feel of an image, you can see the forms where the image was once rooted and forms into a picture.
Concept arts falls into this category, the ground work before its dolled up, but I find beauty in 1st drafts. Egon's sketch-works are beautiful, they convey so much expression, so much movement in only a few lines.
